Dragon energy is grounding in big ways on the earth right now. As a lover of fantasy and a dark fantasy author, I’ve always been drawn to dragon lore and stories. The Hobbit, A Song of Ice and Fire, and The Flight of Dragons are a few of my favorites.
What I’ve found, though, during my youth and young adult years, was that people talked about dragons through a fictional lens, myself included. However, in recent years, especially this past year, I have encountered mystics, healers, writers, storytellers, and witches who speak of dragon energy as something real and tangible that they connect with on a spiritual level. This tells me we’re remembering that dragons are more than myth.
They’re our guides. They’re our spiritual cheerleaders. They have returned to assist us in the alchemical medicine of shedding the old, both within ourselves and within the world, to birth something new.
Many of the old systems are crumbling right now, and I believe that the dragon energy being grounded more deeply on the earth through the human experience plays a significant part in that. After all, dragons burn through what stands in their way, what no longer serves them, because a dragon knows what’s in their highest good. A dragon knows who they really are.
They don’t question themselves when it’s time to burn something away. They simply let the fire do its work and continue forward. In this way, they are the perfect embodiment of the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine.
I remember talking to a woman on Substack not long after I joined the community. She shared a story with me about how she’d been reconnecting with her dragon guides, and the more that she embraced this connection, the more tangible it became. She didn’t balk or shy away or question her reality. She simply understood that she had broken through the veil between dimensions.
In another, more recent conversation on Substack, I connected with a beautiful woman who writes about her conversations with her spirit guides, including dragons. We had a wonderful conversation about the names of our spirit dragons and how they step in to protect us, how they have our back, how they help us ground energies into our bodies and onto this earth.
There is no denying that the more you open yourself to connect with dragon energy, with spirit dragons as your guides, the more tangible dragons become in your experience.
That looks different for everyone. For me, I feel their presence, and even though I can’t see them as I would see any other person or animal before me, I know they’re there. I know that they’ve got my back. I know that they have my highest intentions when they guide me in a certain direction.
But what I have found to be most important in connecting with dragon energy, as is true when connecting with any energy, is to be clear that these energies are connected to the highest light realms before working with them. Where the energy is pure and there is no “give and take” dynamic, there is only divine guidance given to you out of divine love. They delight in the pleasure of helping you to remember that you also carry the dragon energy in human form.
In my experience working with these spiritual dragons, I have found that they are evermore returning me within myself to remind me that I carry my own inner dragon, which is my own soul. We all have a soul that, when ablaze with the truth of your sovereign power, is the embodiment of your own inner dragon.
I believe that’s what this dragon energy is teaching us now as we become even more open to working with them. They want to be a mirror for us to remember that we carry the same energy within us, that alchemical medicine that gives us the power and the courage to burn down what no longer serves us, to birth something new in more alignment. That we have the power to go into those deep, dark places within ourselves to alchemize them into light through the purest unconditional love.
Another way that the dragons have been showing up in my life is through stories I write. I recently published a parable called, The Witch and the Whale. One of the first concepts that came through when I received the beginning of this story is that while the witch of the story didn’t remember that she was a witch, nor her power, and the whale, though remembering who she was, there was a deeper layer that connected them. Both the souls of the witch and the whale, the human and the animal, carried a golden dragon energy.
This energy is fire and the light that blazes bright, guiding your human experience.
It was revealed to me that this witch and whale were golden dragon sisters who, through their journey together in the story, will remember just how connected they really are through the golden dragon energy of their souls. Writing the parable reminded me that at our purest essence, we are all the same. We are all one. We all come from the same light of creation consciousness. I believe that each one of us has the potential of a dragon inside of us.
Every act of birthing something new is dragon energy. Dragons burn away what no longer serves and clear space for what wants to be born. That’s the vision we’re grounding through Dragonwings Collective, now finding its wings through our Kickstarter—for creators, writers, artists, mystics, healers, and anyone who has been told they don’t fit. We want a marketplace built on reciprocity, not competition. A place where your craft and your soul are counted as currency.
This is an invitation: let’s see what happens when dragons gather, rebuilding how we work, create, and belong.
This is a community: where people are seen as whole, where stories open doors, and where collaborators find one another because they recognize the flame in each other.
Dragon to dragon, creator to creator, heart to heart—let’s see what we can birth together.
